Gogamedi Fair is one of the important festivals locally celebrated to remember the Serpent God in Rajasthan, Gogaji. The fair is held from the ninth day of the dark half of Bhaadra (Goga Navami) to the eleventh day of the dark half of the same month. The unique appeal of the fair attracts a large number of tourists from different corners of the world.
It is usually believed that by chanting the name of Goga Ji Maharaja, anyone suffering from snakebite gets cured. Devotees from all over Rajasthan participate in the fair with enthusiasm and special food items are offered to Goga Ji Maharaja. Delicacies prepared from honey, sugar and coconut are also offered to Goga Ji Maharaja. The traditional ambiance of Rajasthan comes alive to the core on Gogamedi fair as musicians from all over Rajasthan showcase distinct aspects of Rajasthani culture during the fair.

Gogamedi is also considered to be a major animal fair in the region. Merchants dealing in animal trade come over to the village during the fair and trading of animals like Camel is done during the fair.
Shri Gogaji’s influence over the people was very intense. He is one of the five renowned peers with miraculous powers. He is a local deity and highly revered as he is capable of healing a person suffering from snakebite and other diseases. Gogaji is worshiped not only in Rajasthan but also in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh.
