India Playing XI vs South Africa: IND vs SA Live Streaming – Rohit Sharma faces the selectors as the Indian captain picks his XI for the IND vs SA 1st T20I in Thiruvananthapuram. Players like Rishabh Pant have retired after Hardik Pandya and Bhuvneshwar Kumar and others are vying for what could be the last run of the game in the T20 World Cup.
IND during Match XI: Rohit Sharma will have to make some tough calls when it comes to Indias match against South Africa in the first T20I in Thiruvananthapuram. Hardik Pandya and Deepak Hooda are absent from India while former players are rested. With both Indians unavailable Rohit Sharma will have to tinker with his team. India can select only five players or opt for all-round bowling.
Rishabh Pant will replace Hardik Pandya if India picks the pick of 6 +5. Hardik took a break while Rishabh played against Hong Kong in the Asia Cup. The wicket keepers addition means India will field just five bowlers with Akshar Patel an all-rounder.
As this is the last round before the T20 World Cup the team management will be eager to provide Rishabh Pant with a series of matches before the tour of Australia. Pant had recently lost his place to Dinesh Karthik but could force a comeback with two valuable innings.
India’s XI are likely to play against South Africa.
- Rohit Sharma
- KL Rahul
- Virat Kohli
- Suryakumar Yadav
- Rishabh Pant
- Dinesh Karthik
- Axar Patel
- Harshal Patel
- Arshdeep Singh
- Yuzvendra Chahal
- Jasprit Bumrah
Along with Rishabh Pant Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Arshdeep Singh will also be rested in the series. Arshad missed the three matches against Australia where India struggled with bowling in the death. The 23-year-old left-back can ease those concerns and make a case for the first XI.
Shreyas Iyer also has a chance for India to include Deepak Chahar. Both the former players have been selected to replace Deepak Hooda in the South African squad. Both Iyer and Chahar were declared World Cup standby players and could play in the series. Shahbaz Ahmed is also included in the squad but replaces Akshar Patel.
Deepak Chahar or Shehbaz Ahmed will be number 7 in the batting order along with Akshar Patel and Dinesh Karthik if India opt for the extra bowling option. This may give India bowling depth though they have options in Harshal Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin which will reduce their batting repertoire.
