India in T20 WC – Hardik Pandya’s birthday celebration: Indian cricketers are busy ahead of the T20 World Cup in Australia. He has been participating in net practice in Perth since his arrival in Australia. But the team got a day off from training when Virat Kohli posted a picture of Deepak Hooda with Harshal Patel and Axar Patel on Monday. As it is Hardik Pandya’s birthday the team has planned a special celebration for the Indian all-rounder.
A cake cutting ceremony was held in the afternoon. A special dinner at the team hotel is also planned. The players families have yet to go but all members of the Indian team will be there to make their birthdays special.
Pandya was not with his family this time and the Indian all-rounder posted a video of himself and his son saying that he missed him. He wrote in caption ‘missing my boy a little bit more on my birthday’.
The Indian team arrived in Australia last week and have tackled some challenging routines in Perth as they sweat along the way adapting to Australian conditions and preparing for the World Cup.
Indeed India beat Western Australia by 13 points in their first practice session on Sunday. The star of the day was Suryakumar Yadav who played for half a century while Arshdeep Singh also delivered three scalps. Yuzvendra Chahal and Bhuvneshwar Kumar also took two wickets each.
Players like KL Rahul Virat Kohli did not participate in practice sessions. The two players practiced batting after the game.
On Tuesday the Indian team will be seen training again in Perth. All the players are going through a rigorous process and preparing for the next warm-up game against Western Australia. The match is scheduled to take place on October 13. The team will then travel to Brisbane to play two matches against Australia and New Zealand on October 17 and 19.
These two matches are important for Rohit and Gara as this will be their last match before the match between India and Pakistan at the MCG on October 23.
